Hoban Group held the "2025 HIT CHALLENGE" to discover innovative technology startups and strengthen open innovation.
Hoban Group announced on the 7th that it held the final announcement and award ceremony of the "2025 Hoban Innovation Technology Contest" at its headquarters in Hoban Park, Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 6th. More than 70 people attended the event, including Kim Dae-hun, Hoban Group's planning general manager, Moon Gap, Hoban Construction's management division representative, Kim Hyun-woo, CEO of the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, and officials from award-winning companies. 118 companies from various industries, including construction, manufacturing and distribution, participated in this year's contest to compete for technology. Hoban Group increased the number of awards from eight to 14 from last year.
The grand prize went to "Fobicon," a construction technology start-up that introduced automatic analysis technology based on vision artificial intelligence (AI). Hoban Group plans to digitize the calculation of construction volume and cost estimation by applying the technology of Forbes to sites such as Hoban Construction and Hoban Industrial, its affiliates.▷Best award 'Wata AI' (AI-based real-time logistics management platform) ▷ Best award 'Soldak' (Telemedicine Integrated Medical Platform), 'Gusang KSC' (Induction-combined Kitchen Appliances) ▷ Challenge-ground 'Sleep Wave' (Smart Sleep and Mental Care Solution), 'V Monster' (Interactive Avatar AI Kiosk), 'Libbit' (AI Carbon Data Management Platform), 'One More Security' (AI Image Security System) ▷ Thinner-ground 'Brain Cheese' (Edge AI-based Risk Detection CCTV), 'Integrady Nc' (Zero Energy Smart Envelope System), 'Quintes' (Volume Sensor-type Inventory Management Module), 'Ottiton Medical' (AI Smart Thermometer), 'Fonature' (Carbon Capture Air Purification Solution), and 'Kissens' (Wireless Remote Control System) were honored.
The winning company will receive a total of 200 million won in prize money and commercialization support. Various follow-up programs such as technology verification (PoC), testbed and office space provision, global program linkage, networking and investment support will also be provided. "Hoban Group is growing with startups through innovative technology competitions and promoting digital innovation in their lives," said Kim Dae-heon, president of the planning general. "We will continue to expand open innovation to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem."
The "2025 Hoban Open Innovation Demo Day 2025" was also held in collaboration with PlanH Ventures, a CVC (corporate venture capital) corporation of Hoban Group. It is an event that introduces the excellent technologies of startups and links investment and commercialization, and for the first time this year, it has established an integrated venture investment platform that leads from technology discovery to demonstration, commercialization, and investment by combining the contest and Demo Day. Meanwhile, the Hoban Innovation Technology Contest, which began in 2020, marked its seventh anniversary with two expansion operations in the first and second half of this year. At the "2025 Hoban Next Startup Competition" held in March, "Arch Seoul," which developed a solution to prevent the leakage of personal information, won the top prize. Hoban Group plans to cooperate with Arch Seoul to apply the technology to electronic document platforms affiliated with the group, including Resom Resort QR order and room service systems.
