Mapo-gu will operate a "high-speed missing person search system" that analyzes CCTV footage with AI technology to quickly track the path and location of the missing person. The system is promoted with a project cost of 200 million won secured through a public offering by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and was officially operated this month after completing a pilot operation in July. The system, which is installed at the integrated CCTV control center in Mapo-gu, enters photos and descriptions when a missing person is reported, and quickly tracks the missing person's movements in CCTV footage across Mapo through AI analysis. The analysis results are automatically delivered to the CCTV safety center in Seoul and the police 112 general situation room to help efficient search with information close to real-time.

Through this, search time was greatly reduced, and golden time could be secured. During the pilot operation in July, the effectiveness of the system was proven in actual missing cases. At that time, the control center entered the description information and quickly identified the route of the missing person through AI analysis.

Park Kang-soo, head of Mapo-gu District Office, visited the CCTV Integrated Control Center on the 21st of last month to inspect the system operation site and asked, "Please operate the system using AI technology thoroughly so that it is effective immediately in searching for missing people and preventing crimes."

This year, the district also replaced 136 old and low-definition CCTVs, and intelligent screening and control licenses were applied to new equipment, strengthening its ability to prevent crimes and respond to safety accidents. The equipment will be used in various fields such as crime prevention, child protection, and safety management of parks and playgrounds.
