(Suwon = International News) Reporter Man-gu Kim = Suwon Special City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd of this month that they will introduce an artificial intelligence-based 'missing person high-speed search system' to reduce the time it takes to find missing persons.
The city explained that this system, an 'AI-based high-speed search solution for missing persons' acquired from the Public Procurement Service, can quickly find past movement paths and current locations by analyzing CCTV footages installed throughout the city when missing persons' photos or other attribution informations are corrected.
They plan to sign a business agreement with a manufactor this month and begin pilot operations within this year.
According to the city, there have been 12,000 cases of missing person reports occured in the jurisdiction over the past three years, and it takes an average of 14 hours to find a missing person.
The city emphasized that "the introduction of a high-speed missing persons search system is expected to have the effect of complementing the existing missing persons search methods, and significantly reduce the time it takes to find missing persons."
