(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter, Jun-yeong Jeong = Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Yoo Seong-hun) announced on the 15th that it will pilot a system to quickly find missing persons using closed-circuit television (CCTV) based on artificial intelligence (AI).
If a missing person's photo or description information is entered into the system, AI can be used to analyze CCTV footage and quickly identify the missing person's movement path. In addition, the system can be used by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the 112 situation room in conjunction with the 'Smart City Safety Net Service'.
The district has established this system in the district office U-integrated operation center. After a pilot run, it will be put into official operation after supplementing any shortcomings.
Mayor, Seong-hoon Yoo said, “This high-speed missing person search system has enabled us to respond quickly and efficiently to missing person investigations,” and added, “We will continue to strive to protect the safety of our residents by utilizing various cutting-edge technologies.”
