한국인터넷진흥원(KISA)과 과학기술정보통신부는 국내 보안 스타트업의 글로벌 성장 및 진출을 위한 'K-Global 시큐리티 스타트업 데모데이'를 지난 6일 온라인으로 진행했다고 8일 밝혔다.
한국인터넷진흥원은 지난 5월부터 유망 보안기술을 보유한 국내 스타트업 7곳을 선발해 약 7개월간 역량 강화부터 해외진출까지 원패스로 지원하는 '우수 정보보호 스타트업 육성 및 해외진출' 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
이번 행사는 프로그램에 참여한 스타트업을 대상으로 △글로벌 보안 시장 진출 전략 및 기술개발 자문 △수출 인증·규격 상담 △투자전략 수립 및 IR 피칭 교육 등 3개월간의 국내 지원활동을 마무리하고 사업 확장 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
1부에서는 스타트업-ICT 관련 국내 7개 벤처캐피털(VC) 대상 IR 피칭, 2부에서는 상호간의 관심분야를 고려해 사전 매칭된 벤처캐피털과 1대1 비공개 개별 투자상담을 진행하며 향후 사업 협력 가능성 및 투자계획을 논의했다.
이날 진행된 IR 피칭에서 전문 투자자 7인의 평가점수를 종합해 우수팀 세 팀이 선정됐다. 최우수상은 '쏘마', 우수상은 '테이텀', 인기상은 '옥타코'사가 선정되어 별도 시상금을 받았다.
최우수상을 수상한 노용환 쏘마 대표는 "해외진출을 준비하고 있는 기업 입장에서 이번 프로그램을 통해 해외 전문가의 멘토링, 영문 IR 자료 작성, 피칭교육 등 실질적인 도움을 받을 수 있었다"고 소감을 전했다.
오동환 한국인터넷진흥원 보안산업단장은 "신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)로 글로벌 벤처시장은 주춤하는 듯 보였으나, 급격한 디지털 전환으로 오히려 보안 스타트업에 대한 관심이 높아지는 기회가 됐다"라며 "올 하반기에는 참여한 우수 보안 스타트업을 대상으로 제품 현지화 컨설팅, 네트워킹 이벤트 개최, 잠재 고객·투자자 발굴 등 글로벌 진출을 적극 지원할 계획"이라고 말했다.
한편 올해 우수 정보보호 스타트업 육성 및 해외진출 프로그램 참가기업은 총 7곳으로 △옥타코(차세대 다중 생체인식 보안인증 솔루션) △쏘마(엔드포인트 행위 기반 사이버 위협 탐지 서비스) △테이텀(멀티 클라우드 통합 보안 규정 자동 관리 솔루션) △원모어시큐리티(AI 기반 CCTV 영상 연계 이동경로 시각화 솔루션) △제이투씨(홍채인식 통합 솔루션) △아이디랩(동물 홍채인식) △키워드랩(3차원 이미지 지문인식)이다.

In the first part, IR pitching for 7 domestic venture capitals (VCs) related to startup-ICT is conducted, and in the second part, one-on-one private investment consultations are conducted with venture capitals that have been matched in consideration of mutual interests, and the possibility of future business cooperation is discussed. We discussed investment plans.
In the IR pitching held that day, three excellent teams were selected by synthesizing the evaluation scores of 7 professional investors. The top prize was 'Soma', the top prize was 'Tatum', and the popularity award was 'Octaco', and a separate prize was awarded.
Noh Yong-hwan, CEO of Soma, who won the grand prize, said, "From the perspective of a company preparing for overseas expansion, I was able to receive practical help from overseas experts through this program, such as mentoring, writing IR materials in English, and pitching training."
Dong-hwan Oh, head of the security industry at the KISA, said, "The global venture market seemed to be stagnant due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), but the rapid digital transformation gave an opportunity to increase interest in security startups." We plan to actively support global advancement by providing product localization consulting, networking events, and discovering potential customers and investors for participating excellent security startups,” he said.
