인공지능 기반 실종·범죄 사건 신속 대응으로 안전 도시 구축 박차
경기 이천시가 '실종자 고속검색 시스템'을 본격적으로 가동했다고 19일 알렸다.
앞서 이천시는 지난해 하반기 재난안전 특별교부세 2억 원을 확보해 '실종자 고속검색 시스템' 구축을 완료했다. 시범 운영 기간을 거쳐 안정성과 효율성이 검증된 이 시스템은 실종 및 범죄 사건 발생 시 신속한 대응을 위해 도입했다.
이 실종자 고속검색 시스템은 인공지능(AI) 기술을 기반으로 작동한다. 실종자의 인상착의나 사진 정보를 시스템에 입력하면 이천시 전역에 설치된 3673대의 방범용 시시티브이(CCTV) 영상을 분석하여 실종자의 이동 경로를 추적하고 현재 위치를 파악한다. 이는 기존에 관제 요원이 수많은 시시티브이(CCTV) 영상을 일일이 확인해야 했던 방식에 비해 수색 시간을 획기적으로 단축해 골든타임 확보에 결정적인 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
이 시스템은 실종자 검색뿐만 아니라 다양한 기능을 갖추고 있다. 차량번호 인식 기능은 뺑소니 사고 등 범죄 수사에 활용될 수 있으며, 특정 영역 고속검색 기능은 사건 현장 주변의 시시티브이(CCTV) 영상을 빠르게 분석하여 수사에 필요한 단서를 찾는 데 도움을 준다. 그리고 개인정보 비식별화 기능을 통해 개인정보 보호에도 효과적이다.
김경희 이천시장은 "실종자 고속검색 시스템 도입으로 실종자 수색의 효율성을 높이고 골든타임을 확보하여 소중한 생명을 구하는 데 이바지할 것으로 기대한다"며 "앞으로도 인공지능 기술을 활용하여 시민의 안전을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.

Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, announced on the 19th that it has operated a "high-speed search system for missing persons" in earnest.
Earlier in the second half of last year, Icheon City secured 200 million won in special grant tax for disaster safety and completed the construction of a "high-speed search system for missing persons." The system, which has been verified for stability and efficiency through the pilot operation period, was introduced to respond quickly in the event of disappearance and criminal incidents.
This missing person high-speed search system works based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. When the description or photo information of the missing person is entered into the system, it analyzes 3,673 CCTV images installed throughout Icheon City to track the movement path of the missing person and identify the current location. This is expected to play a decisive role in securing golden time by drastically shortening the search time compared to the previous method in which control personnel had to check numerous CCTV images one by one.
The system has various functions as well as searching for missing persons.
The vehicle number recognition function can be used for criminal investigations such as hit-and-run accidents, and the high-speed search function in a specific area helps to quickly analyze CCTV images around the scene of the incident to find clues necessary for the investigation. In addition, the de-identification of personal information is effective in protecting personal information.
Icheon Mayor Kim Kyung-hee said, "We expect that the introduction of a high-speed search system for missing persons will increase the efficiency of searching for missing persons and secure golden time to contribute to saving precious lives," adding, "We will continue to do our best to protect citizens' safety by utilizing artificial intelligence technology."
